Lviv oblast's rehabilitation medical network expanded its inpatient capacity by 35% between Q1 2024 and Q1 2026, according to reporting by regional news platform Tvoemisto.tv. Four rehabilitation facilities added new wards or opened entirely new buildings during the period. Total monthly patient throughput across the Lviv regional rehabilitation network reached 2,430 in February 2026 — the highest recorded volume and the largest outside Kyiv oblast. The expansion has been funded through a combination of central government allocations, international medical NGO grants, and bilateral program support from Germany, Poland, and Canada. Germany's GIZ development agency provided €3.2 million for equipment procurement and staff training at two facilities.
